  • March 24, 1964 Sgt. Patrick Dean was questioned by attorney Burt Griffin for the Warren Commission.
  • The next day, March 25th, Dean filed a complaint against Griffin, who was then ordered back to D.C..
  • Dean was basically the star witness for the Dallas Police Department in Jack Ruby’s trial.
  • When a Canadian from Victoria called in to say they had footage of the assassination, Dean took the call.
  • Dean tripped himself up when Griffin questioned Dean about the door that lead from the Annex building.
  • Dean was in charge of the security for Dallas City Hall basement in preparation of Oswald’s transfer.
  • Why did the DPD & the Warren Commission protect Sgt. Patrick Dean?
  • Dean was the one who assigned two reserve officers at the entrance way that Ruby utilized.
  • How did Dean indirectly remove these two reserve officers from the basement?
  • Ruby's business partner, Bertha Cheek, was sister in law to Oswald's landlord at the rooming house.
  • Why did Jack Ruby kill Oswald?
  • Griffin & Hubert recommended that Oswald's murder should have it's own chapter in the WC Report.
  • Railroading Griffin & Hubert's investigation basically ended the probe into Ruby & Oswald’s relationship.
  • Dean gave another statement to the Warren Commission, but in D.C., where was he was basically apologized to.

  • These notes were unavailable for the HSCA's investigation, Dean was called before the HSCA again.
  • Although questioned, the questioning was about how Dean was questioned by the Warren Commission in ‘64.
  • Why did Dean say in his interviews to media on Nov. 24th that he'd seen Ruby enter down the Main St. Ramp?
  • The lawyers wanted to look into the anti-Castro & Dallas Police Dept. connections of Ruby's.
  • Dean took a trip to the third floor of City Hall where he got instructions to take Sorrels to question Jack Ruby.
  • Dean himself appears to be an example compartmentalization on an individual.
  • On the evening of November 24th, after the shooting, there was a meeting back at Jack Ruby's apartment.
  • Attorney Tom Howard was at this meeting. Howard was also present in the basement when Ruby shot Oswald.
  • George Senator, Ruby's roommate & business partner, did not discuss the meeting of the 24th when interviewed.
  • When there are multiple discrepancies & things don't add up, you’re probably smelling a cover story.

  • Ed Lansdale's go to person at the CIA was William K. Harvey. Harvey is another key figure in JFK's murder.
  • Policy would be set up, directions sent to SAS, SAS would create plan to follow through with objective.
  • Prouty had been sent to the South Pole escorting VIPS, conveniently out of the way for JFK's murderers.
  • Previously Prouty had been involved in Eissenhower's security when he visited Mexico City.
  • Fletcher Prouty identifies Ed Lansdale in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963.

  • In February of 1943 I was in Africa with the Air Transport Command
  • We flew General Smith into Saudi Arabia to meet representatives of Standard Oil
  • That's the first clandestine exercise I was ever involved in
  • We established an operating base during the Cairo Conference
  • In Teheran, Churchill had no ID, the Russians weren't going to let him through
  • Success at Teheran enabled Chiang Kai-shek to put more pressure on the Japanese
  • American generals supported Ho Chi Minh against the Japanese
  • A few miles below the Turkish Syrian border, 750 American former prisoners of war

  • General Thomas White told me NSC had published Directive Directive 5412, in 1954
  • The Department of Defense would provide support for clandestine operations

  • From 1945 until 1965, CIA was the operating command for military forces in Vietnam
  • CIA had quite an air force, operated and maintained under "Air America"
  • New Year's Eve of 1958-59, I waited for CIA orders to go into Cuba
  • Senator Kennedy understood events going on in Vietnam and Laos and in Cuba
  • President Kennedy was briefed, 3,000 instead of 300 and an invasion was planned
  • The first objective for the program: they must destroy the aircraft
  • Three B-26 bombers destroyed all but three of Castro's combat-capable aircraft
  • McGeorge Bundy reversed the President's decision and said, "no air strike tomorrow."
  • We didn't need air cover, those Cuban jets were supposed to be rubble by sunrise
  • We had to cover Vietnam with helicopter maintenance people
  • A great number of those were cover military; they were involved with the CIA
  • By the summer of '63 Kennedy had made up his mind to get out of Vietnam
  • NSAM 263, otherwise known as the Taylor/McNamara Trip Report of October '63
  • By the end of 1965 all U.S. personnel will be out of Vietnam
  • President Diem was killed in Vietnam
  • Ed Lansdale came to me one day, "Fletch, how would you like to go to the South Pole?"
